Chocolate mousse – vegan and without added sugar
Do you still need a dessert recipe for Valentine's Day? How about a chocolate mousse – vegan and low in sugar?
Vegan chocolate mousse recipe with no added sugar
We use low-calorie aquafaba as a substitute for egg whites. The cooking water from chickpeas can be whipped like egg whites and flavored as desired. Combined with our vegan Xucker Chocolate drops dark chocolate and Xucker Bronxe, the calorie-free raw sugar substitute, you can create an unforgettable moment of indulgence.
Xucker Chocolate drops are particularly well-suited for chocolate desserts thanks to their delicate melting texture. Xucker Bronxe entices with its caramelly note. Perfect for a Valentine's Day dessert.
Instructions
1. For the vegan chocolate mousse, first melt the chocolate drops over a double boiler.
2. Then stir the coconut milk and a pinch of salt into the melted chocolate. Set aside and let cool slightly.
3. Beat the aquafaba with a hand mixer or food processor until fluffy. Meanwhile, add the Xucker Bronxe and the optional baking powder and continue beating for a total of 7-10 minutes. The baking powder makes the vegan "beaten egg whites" a little stiffer. However, it can also be omitted.
4. Now beat the cooled chocolate to incorporate as much air as possible.
5. Add 2-3 tablespoons of the "beaten egg whites" to the chocolate and beat again with the hand mixer. Both mixtures should now be fluffy enough to be combined.
6. Gradually fold the beaten egg whites into the chocolate cream. It's perfectly normal for it to collapse a little at this point.
7. Prepare glasses and spoon in a dollop of Xucker Pistachio Coconut Cream. This step is completely optional and doesn't really have much to do with chocolate mousse. The combination is still a true delight and a real eye-catcher.
8. Divide the finished mousse among the glasses and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
9. Garnish with a dollop of (vegan) cream, chopped pistachios, and rose petals before serving. Enjoy!
