Fortune cookies
Fortune cookies are now no longer just found as a fun dessert in restaurants, but are also increasingly distributed on New Year's Eve to predict the new year. Admittedly, the short sayings are usually not very profound.
Making Fortune Cookies Yourself Without Sugar
Therefore, and of course also because the purchased cookies are full of sugar, we'll show you how to bake fortune cookies yourself without sugar. With the right tricks, this baking endeavor is also a breeze.
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 170 °C fan. Lightly beat the Xucker and egg white together over a water bath until the Xucker has dissolved. Then stir in the salt, oil and finally the flour until a sticky dough is formed.
2. Using a tablespoon, spread a small blob of dough onto baking paper in a circle. The circles should have a diameter of approx. 8 cm. If you want, you can draw the circles on the baking paper beforehand.
3. Now put the tray in the oven for 8-10 minutes until the edges are lightly browned. Now you have to work quickly, as the cookies can only be bent when they are warm and will not break.
4. Remove the flat cookies one by one from the baking paper, put a piece of paper in it and fold them in the middle first. Now fold the closed side of the cookie over the edge of a glass to create the typical shape of a fortune cookie.
5. The cookies should then be left to cool in such a way that they cannot open again.
