Chocolate bonbon recipe
For homemade chocolate bonbons, we only need five ingredients. The main roles are played by our sugar-free chocolate drops – in the varieties white chocolate and whole milk. The drops are particularly well-suited for melting and can be easily measured. For the light "milk cream," we use unsweetened, neutral-flavored whey protein powder. This turns the small chocolate eggs into a high-protein snack for Easter.
Instructions
- For the homemade chocolate bonbons, first melt the white chocolate drops together with the coconut oil over a water bath. Caution: The water should be warm rather than hot, as white chocolate can otherwise clump.
- Now roast the chopped hazelnuts in a non-stick pan without any fat and let them cool down a bit.
- Then stir in the protein powder. The mixture will become dough-like.
- Finally, knead the roasted hazelnuts into the mixture. If it's still a bit sticky, you can add a little more protein powder.
- Now form 10-12 egg-shaped balls from the chocolate mixture, place them on a freezer-safe surface, and put them in the freezer for a few minutes.
- In the meantime, melt the whole milk chocolate drops over a water bath as well. Turn the chilled eggs in the melted chocolate and place them on baking paper. Let the chocolate bonbons harden completely.
