Quark balls without added sugar
Do you remember how wonderful it smelled when grandma made dough balls at home? Dough balls deep-fried in fat and coated in sugar. However, the combination of fat and sugar is particularly tricky. Both are flavor enhancers. That's why we quickly eat too many of these treats.
Quark balls with low-fat quark, no added sugar
Our recipe for quark balls with no added sugar relies on the sweetness of Xucker Premium. You can weigh, dissolve, grind, knead, or mix Xucker Premium just like regular sugar, which makes the dough for this quark ball recipe wonderfully fluffy. Only the low-fat quark contains a few grams of sugar, but also plenty of protein. To calculate the fat content, we weighed the frying oil before and after preparation. However, deviations are certainly possible. Vanillexucker is also used.
Finally, the quark balls are dusted with calorie-free Xucker powdered erythritol. Erythritol has no effect on blood sugar levels. This transforms the traditionally rich doughnut into a complete treat: delicious pastries with Xucker instead of sugar.
Instructions
1. To make the quark balls without added sugar, first prepare the dough. To do this, combine low-fat quark, eggs, Xucker, Vanillexucker and salt.
2. Then mix the baking powder into the flour, add it to the wet ingredients, and mix to form a sticky dough.
3. Heat enough oil in a small saucepan so that the quark balls can float.
4. Using an ice cream scoop or two tablespoons, drop the quark balls directly into the hot oil. Once the quark balls float to the top, turn them over frequently and fry for a few minutes.
5. Remove from the oil with a slotted spoon and let them drain and cool on a mesh net lined with kitchen paper.
6. Dust with erythritol powder before serving and enjoy.
